“I loved the yoga, time spent in the wood, and delicious communal meals.” Nov 2022 participant
Thank you to all who came and contributed to making our first Nature and Wellbeing Retreat a success. Here’s a short photo story to sum up the weekend.
Friday evening – settling in, getting to know each other with tea and chat.
Night walk featuring star gazing, tawny owls calling and fungi finding.
Saturday morning yoga in the beautiful group room in the Oak House. Unfortunately one of our facilitators, yoga teacher Janine, was ill and couldn’t make it. We missed you Janine! Thankfully we managed to find a friend to fill in at the last minute – thank you Nuku!
Active morning yoga sessions and a more meditative evening session.
Communal meals were a highlight for many. Post-yoga, pre-practical task cinnamon and raisin porridge went down well.
Mindful practical task – restocking firewood – regenerative practice.
Learning to split logs with an axe – another highlight for some.
A satisfying task! Logs stacked and seasoning, ready to heat the buildings next year (maybe even at the next retreat in April!).
All wrapped up for forest bathing.
Forest bathing – taking time to notice and connect with the world around us using all our senses.
Evening meditation.
Followed by a spontaneous bit of fun – acroyoga!
Dinner – vegetarian shepherds pie, green beans and spinach. We were well-fed!
Gratitude to cooks and plants.
Evening campfire in the Round House, featuring a spontaneous drum circle and singing!
Autumn finally came this weekend, with chilly, dry weather. Many trees still have green leaves.
