In 2025, Hazel Hill Trust turns ten. Over the past decade, thousands of people have stepped into this woodland to heal, learn, reflect and reconnect. Much of what happens here is quiet and deeply personal—and yet its impact ripples outward in powerful ways.
To mark this milestone, we’re launching a year-long programme of storytelling, celebration and community reconnection. From BioBlitz 2025 to BioBlitz 2026, we’ll be gathering stories, remembering what we’ve learned, and imagining where we go next.
Why this matters
This year is about more than looking back. It’s about:
- Honouring our shared history – and all the people who have shaped Hazel Hill
- Growing community – reconnecting with those who’ve been part of the journey
- Supporting the future – through storytelling, visioning and a new regular giving campaign
Together, we’ll reflect on the richness of what’s been, celebrate what’s happening now, and set our sights on what comes next.
What’s Happening
🗓️ Looking Back Event – 27th to 28th September 2025
A weekend of connection and storytelling, honouring the people and experiences that have helped the wood grow.
🌱 Looking Forward Event – March 2026 (date tbc)
A space to share emerging visions, explore new ideas, and gather support for the future of Hazel Hill.
📚 Stories, Archives and Memory Projects
Over the coming months, we’ll be gathering photos, quotes, and memories from the past ten years—highlighting the transformation that’s taken place in people and in the wood.
🌳 Sponsor a Square of the Wood
We’ll be launching a new way to support the Trust through regular giving—by sponsoring a small square of the woodland. It’s a chance to stay connected and help the wood continue to thrive.
How You Can Be Involved
- Share a story, photo or memory of your time at Hazel Hill
- Help us map the wood’s living history—volunteers welcome!
- Join us at one of the anniversary events
- Support our work through our upcoming sponsorship scheme
We’ll be sharing details soon of how you can do all of these things.
Be part of the story
The forest floor is rich with seeds of stories—some already growing, some waiting to be found. Over the coming year, we’ll be walking back through the paths we’ve taken, listening for what we’ve learned, and planting what we want to grow.
We’d love you to be part of it.
