Hazel Hill Wood nature reserve, education and retreat centre, is nestled between the villages of East Grimstead and Farley in the picturesque Wiltshire countryside, just 7 miles east from the city of Salisbury.

This quiet and secluded 70 acre woodland is a designated Local Wildlife Site. The variety of habitats and microhabitats support a high diversity of wildflowers, trees, animals and fungi.

The site is owned and looked after by the charity Hazel Hill Trust (HHT), whose aim is to promote wellbeing, resilience and sustainability: for individuals, our community and the natural world.

HHT provides opportunities for all people, of all ages, to spend time learning and connecting with nature, through volunteering, activity days, residential trips, events and retreats.

The charity works hard to reach groups supporting those who particularly benefit, including disadvantaged or vulnerable children, young people and adults.

Ways to get involved

  1. Come to a retreat. Join one of our retreats, and participate in activities that combine caring for the wood with caring for you. Or book a getaway in an ecolodge for friends and family.
  2. Host your own retreat or workshop. Hazel Hill is more than just a venue; it’s a living partner in your group’s experience. We can support you in creating your own unique retreat or workshop at the wood.
  3. Become a volunteer. Our volunteers are at the heart of maintaining our practice of care and exchange with the wood. Join up here.
  4. Support Our Work. The financial support of individuals and organisations is essential for sustaining our work. Find out about the different ways to donate.
